Dr. Daniel Nocera: A new method of storing solar energy
admin | January 5th, 2009 | solar power energy
In a major breakthrough, scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have discovered an inexpensive way to store solar energy, mimicking photosynthesis. The paper, published in the July 2008 edition of the journal Science, describes a revolutionary technique to split water into hydrogen and oxygen using solar power. Dr. Daniel Nocera of MIT, the lead author of the paper, believes his team’s discovery will open the door for the large scale use of domestic solar power.

This is the second video with the 56″ Parabolic Dish. The water boiled in 90 Seconds from 50F. The container is a Venom Energy Drink made out of thicker gauge Aluminum. I added some black paint to the back but kept the from because it is a cool design. The drink was too sweet for me:-)

Green energy is the new status symbol. Solar energy is free, clean, and limitless and it is all yours when you install a solar energy system. Solar Homeowners are proud to own homes and business that produce no pollution and conserve natural resources.
This test illustrates the efficiency drop from heat buildup in PV panels and how water can be heated while the panel produces a more efficient energy yield. Dunk at you own risk:-)
Solar Century PV Photovoltaic Panels C21e unique, roof integrated, solar electric tile using the most efficient solar cells in the world. Each photovoltaic tile replaces four conventional roof tiles and is attached straight to the roof battens. C21e has many benefits over conventional bolt-on solar panel systems.
